Crowley Christian Care Center volunteer Marilyn Lawson discusses the need for non-perishable items for the Center’s upcoming food drive. Currently, the pantry shelves at the center are nearly empty and the center supplies about 600 household with supplemental groceries each month.
The Crowley Christian Care Center is hosting a food drive on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The center is in need of all non-perishable items. Some of the specific needs include, but are not limited to, rice, sugar, cornbread mix, mac and cheese, flour, pasta, Ramen noodles, peanut butter, canned meats/veggies and boxed dinners such as Hamburger Helper.
The Crowley Christian Care Center was organized in 1987 by 16 local churches and serves about 600 households per month — or about 1000 individuals.
Located at 726 W. Seventh St., the center will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the food drive.
The CCC food drive is held in conjunction with KLFY’s Food Net, Food for Families Drive. It is the 32nd Annual Food Net, Food For Families Drive.
If interested in donating non-perishable items to the CCC or volunteering at the center, call 783-5811 for more information.
