
Jhkeya Tezeno
Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Rayne woman for the charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The incident occurred the afternoon of Saturday, March 31, just prior to 3 p.m.
“Our deputies responded to a location within the city of Rayne,” stated Sheriff KP Gibson. “After meeting with Rayne Police and the victim, it was determined the crime occurred outside of the city of Rayne.”
The incident was confirmed to have occurred at the intersection of North Riceland Road near Highway 90.
According to the complaint, the victim was attempting to visit his children when an argument between the victim and defendant began. The victim left the scene to avoid escalation to the incident. When he arrived at the above location, the defendant exited a vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victim. The victim was not struck by the bullets.
An arrest warrant was issued for Jhkeya Tezeno, 25, of Rayne for one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. Tezeno was located during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 1, and arrested on said warrant. Tezeno was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with bond being set at $50,000.
