The Acadia Parish Police Jury, along with the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce, are announcing the creation of the Acadia Parish Business Advisory Committee.
The purpose of this committee is to provide insight and make recommendations when it comes to the economic livelihood and well-being of communities across Acadia Parish, according to Chance Henry, president of the police jury.
The Advisory Committee will include representatives from all sectors of Acadia Parish, reflecting organization between mayors and the parish government, Henry explained.
“The police jury will work with the committee to help address parish-level issues and will work with the Acadia Parish Chamber to coordinate best practices,” he said.
The police jury has contacted business leaders, healthcare and local government executives from across the parish to become members of the committee.
“We’re looking for people who have a resilient sense of connection to Acadia Parish and are viewed as leaders by the community,” Henry said.
The APBAC will begin meeting within the coming week and will make public disclosures of the initial discussions, findings and actions to take.
